Dr. Larry Norton discusses medical myths

  1. This doctor is VERY irresponsible!!!! Did you know that at Harvard Med, students only get about 4 to 8 hours of nutrition in their whole academic career??? A medical doctor is the most unqualified and ignorant person to talk about vitamins. He is saying that multi-vitamins are harmful but doesn't say WHY. They are useless and any SYNTHETIC, pharmaceutical grade vitamin is more harmful than helpful, period. Because they are synthetic, made in a lab. And to get all the vitamins in (and minerals)one tablet, they need to compress it and put all sorts of glue (which then makes the whole exercise useless and harmful because the stomach can't break it down). Vitamin prescribed by nutritionists, NDs (Nathuropathic Doctors), Homeopaths, dieticans and trainers are of natural sources. And yes they cost A LOT more and you have to take them in multiple tablets as well. They are not convenient and you can't market them as well as the majic one pill crap in drugstores. very misleading of this man to say to stop taking vitamins. Plus, our food is no longer as rich in nutrients it used to be, it is genetically modified and laced with chemicals. He discounted the fact that our modern lifestyles are very harmful to our bodies, chemicals, pollution, sedentary jobs, we eat more than we burn or use, smoking, alcohol, medication (even aspirin depleats B vitamins, C, and E, all vital) all these factors contribute to vitamin and mineral depletion. Therefore saying to stop taking them is insanely negligent! You need to take the right ones and according to your specific needs, prescribed to you by a professional trained to do so, a simple blood test and monitoring your symptoms, food and stressors will give you a good assessment to what you are lacking. Do not take this as gospel, this doctor is basing this theory from unfavorable studies (made by doctors)who compared cheap readily mass produced products. Of course their findings will show negative results! The natural health community has been saying this for YEARS!

  2. What credentials do YOU have?
I agree the Dr.'s explanation wasn't very detailed, but I think it fit for a 10 minute interview, in which other questions were also askedd.

  3. I think the doctor did his best to explain something so complex is such a short period of time.
