  2. And then, see, Elizabeth will go and say something that's truly intelligent - [regarding priests marrying] @ 5:28 "I think they should be able to get married, contingent upon the fact that women should be able to become priests." That's not only intelligent, you could say that that's a radical opinion -- and I love it!! (She also mentions that she grew up in the Catholic church, which is a telling detail.)

It's not that she's not smart, it's just that... that.... she's lead by her emotions rather than her intellect, and by and large that must work for her... But when she comes in front of the public eye and states her personal political views (and God Bless Her for having the courage to do so), well, that's when the rest of us have a chance to compare her views with our own...

And isn't that what we love about this show, anyway? ;)

  3. No Merry, it's not. You serve to belittle people. Look at your post. Why don't you think of something intellectually profound for once instead of berating someone on television? I am sorry that you're so close-minded.

    Are you living abroad?

Please think intelligently next time. Thank you. :)

  4. I think certain people just dislike Elizabeth because her views are conservative, and people have been very traumatized by some conservative dogmas.

Even still, Elizabeth is not the smartest conservative, which just goes to show you how one sided the whole show really is. She's the only conservative there, and she's not that good with her facts or arguments.

You have a smart moderate(Whoopi), a no so smart person with a volatile bias(Sherry), a hardcore liberal with ok knowledge(Joy), and a no so smart conservative(Elizabeth). And then there's Barbara, which is basically an empty suit that goes whatever way the wind blows.

I'm not saying they should fire her, but it would be nice to at least have a conservative that is smarter than Elizabeth. Who knows? Maybe the empty yet charismatic presence of Barbara will retire and we'll have a chance for another host to fill the slot and bring some balance into the discussion. Just Elizabeth as the conservative voice is not resulting in particularly fair conclusions either way.

  6. Anony 4:52....the only one doing the belittling around here is YOU. In the space of four sentences, you managed to squeeze in five snide ad-hominem insults on Merry. No matter how fancy your linguistics, the nastiness comes through loud and clear....and all over your other posts\insults as well. I, too, am sorry...sorry you're a ignoble little prig, so why don't you take your rude, trolling ass somewhere else and go make some other people's lives as pathetic as your own. And no--Thank YOU! :)

  7. Who da thunk it is a commonly used phrase. It's not strictly correct, but mostly it's used as a joke or in a light hearted manner.

Sherry isn't bright, but don't come down on her for using such a common phrase.
