    They kind of mis-spoke. The View women said a few times, "This is our last day". This show aired on THursday. But almost everyone now knows that they also pre-record each Friday show on Thursday. The final show of this season is FRIDAY 8-7-09 (haha, it is already Friday here in Japan!)
    So for them, it was their last day of work (Thursday) because they will also record Fridays show (sure hope Whoopi is there!).
    After that, it is re-runs until the new season starts...??? probably in Sept. THere is nothing on The View website now, but u can check back there to see when they announce the first day of new season.

    Do you know, I have no TV in my house? The only show I still HAVE to watch is the View! Thanks girls! You are fantastic! And of course thanks to Lester, otherwise I would have to keep this huge dusty thing at my house!

    @ anon at 6:05 pm. When you go to The View website and click on tickets you'll see this: The View is on hiatus and will not tape the weeks of August 10, August 17 and August 24, 2009.
    So I'm assuming this means they'll be back August 31.

    I travel to the US quite a bit and I always make sure I watch the View before I start my day while there. The view is one of many thing I miss about the US whenever I leave. But now you've given me one less thing to miss about the US whenever I return to England. So I would like to say a very big thank you from England.

    wait WHAT?? Can anyone tell me when Obama went on The View?? I been watching every episode since late October 2008, and I never saw Obama on! They kept trying to get him on, but instead got McCain and later Michelle Obama.
