Isn't it crazy how the same pastor can preach that sex and sexual pleasure is a gift from God, and then turn around and say masturbation is a sin. The brains and body parts are God given and that sexual energy has to go somewhere. The fact that you're supposed to be a puritanical virgin until your wedding night, and then after that happily please your man because its your wifely duty even though you've suppressed those urges for years because the church told you to is laughable.
Bruno, I just don't think the film is funny. I don't have a problem with that kind of movie but I've never found Sacha Baron Cohen funny in anything he does. So I wont go see it.
Now as for the parents, some of them don't know or don't care about what kind of film Bruno is. My friend and I went to see "Public Enemies" on a Saturday afternoon. On the same side of the cinema they were showing Bruno. A mom and three pre-teen girls were in front of us in line. Its sad but true...they went to see Bruno. I was glad to see our theater be vigilant and have the ticket-takers check the tickets and make sure there was a parent accompanying the kids....but still. I think there's more kids seeing Bruno than people want to admit. Same thing with "Public Enemies".
Sherri finds masturbation wrong but she didnt seem to mind gettin knocked up by the whole 'hood an go have multiple abhortions.

ReplyDeleteThe Movie is Rated R for a reason. i WASNT allowed to see Rated R movies when i was young. I was allowed to watch them on basic cable TV when of course they were watered down.

i think it's perfectly fine. It can teach girls confidence in their own sexuality so that they don't have stupid young minded boys taking advantage of them in school. If they can appreciate their own bodies they will know that they should be appreciated by anyone they decide to be with!
