  2. I find the whole Susan Boyle thing incredibly depressing - yes, she has a good voice but it;s not spectacular. The only reason she's a big deal is because she is quite ugly, and people decided that ugly people should have no talent. It's all very odd. Also, during her audition people heckle her before she sings because of how she looks. It's a horrible story all round, and now people are telling her not to have a makeover because she needs to stay ugly or else she has no appeal! It's just horribe, we shouldn't live in a society where it's suprising and noteworthy that someone with frizzy hair has talent!!

Also, I live half an hour away from her and love that they've put subtitles under her! He he xxx

  5. Ha ha yeah, but it is quite a hard accent (I'm anon from above, I'm from Edinburgh). Also her voice is quite mumbly, and she stammers a bit, I found her difficult to understand a bit, but I think it's her voice, not the accent, if that makes sense. I'm sure if they weren't there people would know what she was saying, they do in te live bit.

Still quite funny though. Oh, I love Britain with all out accents! Much more interesting than only having a few variations like the US.

  6. I've seen subs of people speaking English on BBC,
even though the person was from the UK, so doing it here isn't so out of the ordinary. I take it you haven't spent much time in the US, because there are more than a few variations when it comes to regional accents. Actually a person can go from one end of a city to another and find completely different accents in use.:)

  7. I have been to the US quite a lot, actually! And yes there are lots of variations but there aren't as many as the UK, and definately not over such a small area.

I do get that there are definately variations, i didn't mean it to come across like I though you all talked the same. I LOVE the Boston accent, it's amazing! he he. Pahk the cahr in hahvahd yahd lol xxx

but they tend to mumble like many cultures in that part of the world
infact there has been many columes written on that very subject from that part of the world
google "why cant the english speak thier own language"
making an anti american arguement is well anti american!
