  1. It's easy why places of worship are attacked. It's because all religions basically preach "Our God is better than your God." I know most Eastern religions accept all Gods but Abrahamic religions all state that their religion is the right way. That that one religion is the only way to reach God. That is why countless wars in our history are due to differences in religion.

And since when does safety trump human rights? I though thuman rights is one of the most fundamental values of the U.S. We do not stoop down to the level of terrorists and nations that do not value human rights in order to keep our country safe. Because at that point, there is nothing different between you and the terrorists.

  2. I'm glad Republicans and Democrats can at least agree that stopping bomb threats is a good thing.

As for why places of worshipped are attacked, it's no secret that everyone cares way too much about their imaginary friends, we always have. Mix the assurance of divine truth and the afterlife with weapons and you will continue to have extremist religious violence.

While you may not have truly meant that all religions preach that mantra, I am a person of faith and my religion isn't about "Our God is better than your God." We are the first to admit that sin exists. And I don't think we're supposed to use the word terrorists anymore. :)

"It's not secret that everyone cares way too much about their imaginary friends." I'm sorry, but I thought religion was on the decline. So I don't understand where your logic comes from with this. Most people doing the attacking are not from religious backgrounds...and if they are of a religious background, it's an extreme viewpoint. I find more non-religious people attacking than religious.

  4. Once again, the ladies fawn over Obama & his speaking abilities. Not a big shock...was waiting for Barbara to start making out with the cameraman over it.

However, after hearing both Cheney & Obama's speeches:

    Cheney: 1
    Obama: 0

  5. Barbara did NOT want to hear about church bombings! She obviously detested the comparison between a bombing of a synagogue to attacks on ALL RELIGIOUS FACILITIES. I wonder why....

  6. I do agree that the US has done a lot of good in the world in the name of Human rights. But lets not forget that the American goverment have conspired with terrorist and dictators in the past. The Regan administration supplied missiles to the Taliban and worked with Bin Ladin. Nixon administration supported Pinochet which resulted in genocide and political refugees.

The majority of the horrible conflicts that the US have been involved in have been comitted by republican administrations. Exceptions do apply. But I would say that Democrats at least tries to reach out in diplomacy before engaging in conflict.

  7. Whoopi is so wrong on this point. The purpose of bombing a religious building is to destroy the spirit of the people of that faith. It's very simple. You destroy the 'place of peace' in order to destroy the foundational identity of a people, which is usually their religious centers.

  10. Sweden....time to change your focus from denegrading the US political system to attempting to figure out how jobs will be able to be created in the US. Thank you!

  11. Yeah I can't believe that I actually agreed with Elizabeth.....maybe it's the hormones on her part!!! :)

  12. Please let me know why people have a problem with Elisabeth. She has more strength to be sitting with four women that don't agree with her at all (I'll concede that Sherri does a little, but not much) and I don't understand the volatility of this site towards her.

  13. @from sweden

totally agree with you. if people would study u.s history and politics they would know that there is much truth to that.

  14. Would people stop jumping on From Sweden and other people abroad just because they are not American. And don't dismiss them as "those liberals." They add valid opinions to the discussion.

  15. People here are against Elisabeth's views but they take it out on Elisabeth. They don't know her as a person. It's like Whoopi's philosophy... I dislike your views, I don't dislike you. People should criticise Elisabeth's views... not her herself. This whole Bitsy and Elisabitch is like juvenile namecalling. Grow up and get over your childishness.

  16. Well done to Joy for pointing out that these terrorists were american. Made Bitsy stumble a little when she was comparing the bombing of black churches.

  17. It's all being orchestrated like that. The gov't is making lists of domestic extremists. That's yet another step headed toward tyranny. The FBI plans these things. You should google (New York "Terror Plot" Another Government Provocateured Set Up). There are big things happening with big implications for the american people. We need to wake up. Check out news from infowars.com Joy's mentioning of them being American is because they are planting seeds for us to get ready to see eachother as the enemy as "The War on Terror" heats up. In a near future WE will be the terrorists. DHS has published the "Domestic Extremist Lexicon" which details different groups. That is also an interesting document to look through. 12 whole pages of definitions defining extremist groups. Alternative Media was one of the groups described. Check it out and let me know what you think.

  19. No matter which religion, it's all the SAME G_d, whether it be Allah or G_d. Even the Hindu religion - people think it's 100 G_ds, no, it's not - it's 100 faces of ONE G_d. People should be looking for the similarities rather than the differences. The Christians, Jews, and Muslims all believe in the story of Abraham. It's all the same G_d. People need to get that!
