  1. Oh won't Sherri be disappointed if she finds out there is no afterlife.

  2. Whoppi's joke about the Queen - "Oh my God, negroes" made me laugh so much! Joy knew what was coming because you could hear her say "they're black"! The beliefs of Jehovah Witnesses are just ridiculous - even Sherri turned her back on them and that's saying something!

  3. I guess one thing that bothers me about the whole after life idea is that many people who believe in it act good here on Earth so that they are guaranteed a ticket to heaven. What happened to doing good because that's the right thing to do? I don't need a "threat from God" to do good.

And Whoopi's negro comment. Haha. Barbara's reaction in her head looks like "No! Don't go there! We need to be politically correct!" lol.

I've never had audio problems on this site, but it keeps dropping off today.

  5. I don't believe in the afterlife because there's no evidence for it, and I think it makes people lose focus on their actual life. If you think you're going to live forever, why does this life even matter (after you've accepted X religion)? Why does the earth matter?

We don't live forever. Life is rare, fragile, and temporary. I think as soon as we accept this fact, people will start investing in research to keep us alive longer and healthier for real.

  6. Madison Grace, the audio problem today is due to station broadcasting problem and was recorded as such. There is nothing wrong with this site or dailymotion or our computers. Crap just happens from time to time.

  8. i always cringe when they talk about plastic surgery and babwa tries to act all casual, when it's pretty obvious she's had some work done!

  9. once again, Barbara slows down the conversation from the very beginning...

  11. I think most ppl believe there's an afterlife because they don't want to get the idea in their heads (or others) that there are no future repercussions/rewards for how they treat others in this lifetime. I also find it so relaxing when Elisabeth isn't on... if she could be on maybe Tuesdays and Thursdays to shake things up with her crazy and leave us the beginning, middle, and end of the week to come down and enjoy the conversation I'd be very, very happy.

  12. I prefer it when Barbara is not own. She deffinately slows down the conversation, and we always end up hearing about her book or about her great interviews. I'm tired of that.

How many times does she need to plug that book or her radio show or her interviews ?

  13. Typo in first sentence:

  16. The person who said he doesn't believe in an afterlife because there is no proof for it is an idiot. There's no proof for a lot of things, but we believe them. Why would there be proof of an afterlife? Key words... AFTER-LIFE. No one can say whether there is one or not. So for all of you who are sooooo sure that there is not an afterlife or a God, I feel really bad for you.... almost.

  17. Anon @ 4 pm. Totally agree with you. However, you are dealing with an audience that is both global and liberal therefore they're going to find fault/agreement with left-leaning viewpoints.

I'm a Christian and a Lutheran. I don't believe in an after-life. I believe in God, Heaven & Hell. If folks want to question my beliefs because they think things don't exist, so be it. I am guided by something much stronger than ideology....something called faith.

And I totally thought this show was soo slow today. I miss Elisabeth. She brings sanity to this program.

Also, I'm not a fan of the PC-ness of the term negro. I'm sure if some other person had said some negro-related queen joke, that they would be discussing it..not attempting a lame accent at a lame joke.

My bet is that if it were a discussion on shoes, that Michelle was telling the Queen about how she was going to volunteer and had just bought $500+ shoes to wear to wear while volunteering.

  18. If we could just remove Joy & Barbara, the show would be much better. Bring in a comedian like Kathy Griffin...she's funny. Joy's not funny at all. She's snarky. And she's always interrupting or talking as if she's the guest. It's like "shutup!"

Next week, I hope they talk about Pelosi. Let's see Barbara & Joy get out of this one.

  19. To Anon @ 4:00....no, we do not believe anything without evidence. Evidence is important in everything we do from law to medicine to government. Things that aren't visible like microwaves, UV rays, cells, atoms all have ways of manifesting themselves in a visible way. Places in the world we haven't been to we have pictures and videos of.

If no one can say whether or not there is a heaven, then no one can say whether or not there is a Hades and Mt. Olympus. They are unfalsifiable myths. Please don't be so condescending in saying you feel sorry for me...almost. I don't have the guilt of hell and I don't have the anesthetic of heaven. I'm very happy.

  20. Anon @ 5:12....I agree with Anon @ 4. You must be a hard person to date and be around if you insist on evidence. Do you not love? What do you base that concept on? Love is not visible. Love is manifested through actions but actions in themselves are not love.

Also, people that are religious in nature are not guilty. We know that guilt and sin exists, but by no means are we guiding every act and action by guilt or feelings of sadness like you seem to think we do. Man is imperfect. Don't be so defensive else you just look like Joy.

  21. What an odd arguement, about someone not believing in things he/she has no evidence for - it's their personal choce and you have no right to question it, much less try tomake out she is wrong and for some reason a bad person, or a person who is doing something wrong. Of course she has evidenve of love, she will have felt it herself! There are very few things in the world that people believe and there is no evidence of! The only thing that falls into that catagory is RELIGION - you have faith that God or whatever you believe in exists but no proof. That is what makes it faith!

  22. Anon @ 6:37...so you're saying that love is a touch. That it's something that is physically evident. Is that true?

I am not attacking that individual. Merely saying that we're all allowed our own opinions and maybe people need to watch more news/entertainment sources than just The View. :)

    Love Whoopi

  24. No, I'm not saying it's a touch, that it's physically evident, I'm not a moron. I'm saying it's a powerful emotion one feels, that is the evidence of it - people experience it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ok...but in order for something to be there, according to people that don't believe in an after-life or heaven, there has to be physical proof. So where is this physical proof of love? Experience isn't an action. There is no physical evidence of experience is what I'm saying.

But this is way more philosophical than I was trying to go, but you can't see evidence through experience is all I'm saying.

Whatevs, let's enjoy the weekend...or for those of us going to law school, let's prep for the LSAT...haha

  26. Yeah, wow this is way to philisophical! Ha ha I'm way out of my depth! Ha ha.

I've got exams next week, too - looks like we both have a fun weekend ahead of us!! Good luck in your LSAT xxx

  27. Love is actually a physical phenomenon.. it's all about the chemicals in specific part of your brain acting up with some hormonal stimuli... and I'm sorry, but who cares if you feel sorry for anyone for not believing what you believe? How freaking arrogant do you think your maker thinks you are? Sounds like you're the one who needs to be taken down a few pegs. Humility is a virtue.

  28. what the hell is the big deal about touching the queen? please, she's born into entitlement, and that is the worst is that because of it, she have to set rules on how people should behave around her. snobbish
