I agree with this person. That just seems so awkward and just plain out creepy. I understand that the kid wants to talk to her mother about these things, but these kinds of talks should be personal, not broadcast-ed to the entire world!

I love how people are saying these things shouldn't be broadcasted to the entire world but lets face the facts people, a lot of parents out there do not know how to talk to their children about sex and all this show was doing was equipping parents with the tools and thoughts to start preparing themselves for that talk.
It was a good show covering many different points which some people will agree with and others will find taking it too far but I liked the show and I agree with most of what was spoken about.

  6. AWESOME EPISODE! Laura Berman was dead on when she said it should be normalized and not made out to be creepy to talk about touching yourself and knowing your body so you dont grow up believing that those feelings are only produced by a man or woman. I dont understand the people who feel like it shouldnt be broadcast when there is so much on tv and in music now. Rappers and others paint a pretty vivid picture about whats going on. Also, if you leave it behind doors how many parents, women in particular, will talk to their daughter. I hate to say this but this is one area where "religion" has kept people oppressed. Girls and boys are taught that it's wrong to even think about it and yet it is very normal. Sex is not bad. IT IS NOT BAD! The little girl on the show, Jordan, will be so far ahead of the game when she gets to middle school and though she might BE pressured to do something she wont feel like she HAS to do something. She will be strong enough to say NO! Great show... GREAT GREAT GREAT!

  7. Well Mrs. Obama, there you have it! It's time to seat ten-year-old Malia down and have the Sex Talk --->T_T <--- Or perhaps Mrs. O would like the other O. to apply the prescription herself! Off you go for a second interview at the White House :)
On a serious note I like the idea behind, being about empowering women; however I think that it depends on the kids; I did not have much sex talk with my mum (it was somehow an OMG topic) but learned everything in school, thanks to a thorough Biology curriculum. I basically studied it. Not every kid is able to handle this kind of information with discernment (wisely), especially if they learn from it through friends or/and family.
