Yes, how did they pick her of all people? I've known about her for a long time but I never thought of her being famous enough to mention at some random event.
The View probably pushed for it... she's who they're using to get the 'every woman' audience. They shower her with event promotions and gifts and the audience is supposed to feel like they're celebrating the average women... not me so much, though, because I don't get paid a frightening amount to be cute and common on tv. Don't get me wrong; I think she's a nice person. I just don't like feeling like I'm being manipulated quite so obviously.
