ReplyDeletedoes she have to do the catwalk???
wow paris is very imature and pampered
for her age!
wow just wow
she has a 16 year old deamnor (sp)
ewww she needs to put back on some weight
ReplyDeleteThis just seems so fake. Why does she always look like she's posing.
ReplyDeleteThe last thing that Doug Reinhardt did for employment was play minor league baseball. I have no clue what these two would talk about, seems they're always kissing and grinding on each other.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe im gonna say this but i love Paris Hilton. I've met her several times and she is definitely a charmer. She's a VERY sweet girl too. Unfortunately the media has built her up as the girl people LOVE to hate, but hate that they love to know about her, lol. I do believe the gossip sites make up so much about her because it's "believable" and sensational..and she's actually not as dumb as people may believe. The girl runs her own businesses, and she gets no assistance from her relatives because of her lifestyle. I see she's decided to go from that squeeky voice to a more mature voice for the show. lol clever. As far as her weight..I do think she's a bit thin but im thin and can eat whatever i want. I don't know what has begun to make people believe that EVERYONE has to be overweight or else something is wrong with them.

ReplyDelete" i see she's decided to go from that squeeky voice to a more mature voice for the show"
are you kidding?
by mature you mean a valley girl voice
using the word "like" evey other sentence
as for the papparizie she loves it
without the media she woudnt be famouse
The only reason Barbara likes and defends Paris Hilton is because Barbara is friends with her mother Kathy Hilton. And just a note, ever since Paris has gone to jail, her celebrity status has gone so low. She needs to do something else to keep people talking. Maybe another sex tape?
ReplyDeleteI love Joys question " youre looking for sincerity on the show ? "
ReplyDeleteTexasmama - I agree
ReplyDeleteI would also say that these superficial girls like Paris Hilton are a bit passé. Im hoping that we are approaching an era where women like Michelle Obama are the new rolemodels for young girls. Women that are famous for beeing smart and healthy.
TO ANON 6/1/09 1:36 PM
No one is saying that girls should be overweight. But I would overall say that women like Shakira or Evangeline lilly are better rolemodels. They are healthy looking women, smart, successful and take humanitarian work seriously.
Im an adult so I clearly understand that Paris is smart in reak life and that her "stupid blond persona" is just an act. The unfortunate part is that little girls don't understand this.
Why is Michelle Obama a role model? She wore an expensive pair of shoes to a community outreach event. How is that role-model worthy? I really don't get the love affair with her or Obama. Do people have that bad of lives that they are shocked at Obama's relationship with Michelle?
ReplyDelete6/1/09 3:40 PM
ReplyDeleteI don't belive that it's nothing wrong with wearing expensive clothes if you have the funds to pay for them. I have never understood that type of argument. Famous women wear expensive clothes all the time. So what? Michelle Obama is by the way the only First Lady that wear clothes like j.crew.
She is a rolemodel because her lifestory is so very impressive. Are you really that hateful that you can't give the First Lady that credit?? I do understand people that don't agree with Michelle's political views. But how can't you be impressed by her accomplishments? It's just not never good enough for some people.
Anon 3:40.... LMAO...Wow.. The only bad thing you could come up with for bashing Michelle is that she once wore an expensive pair of shoes, and therefore she couldnt possibly be a good role-model?... LMAOOOOOO... What a dumbass! You are truly pathetic and I mean that with ALL of my heart.
ReplyDeleteShe wore designer/expensive shoes to a food bank. I'm sorry if you don't understand the underlying meaning to that. She can spend all she wants, I don't care what she spends. Please tell me her impressive life story. She went to law school. So what? There's this thing called affirmative action. Would she have gotten in had she been white? I would have to see her LSAT score, resume and personal statement to judge. I say this, because I, myself, plan to go to law school. But I'm tired of people using diversity and affirmative action as their means to get in some place. If you want equality, then abolish scholarships for diversity initiatives. Everyone should be held to the same level of comparison.
ReplyDeleteI know that we're in the mess we're in because of people like you...thinking it's ok to spend purely because you have money. There's a thing called class. And wearing expensive shoes when she was at a food bank shoes the level of tact that the woman possesses. You would think the woman could think of more creative gifts when all she does is take on the mother-role. We have yet to see her choose a cause that she wants to stand for.
No worries though...you can't ask democrats about specific policy related issues because they will go talk about the man himself, rather than the issues at hand.
Dougie = a hottie! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat's more important? The shoes she wore to a food bank or THE SERVICE SHE GAVE AT THE FOOD BANK! Idiots need to get their minds right!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, since that wasn't even in this segment, I won't discuss it any further.
Moving on... Can Paris QUIT IT WITH THE CATWALK?! She's considered over-the-hill by any fashion standards anyway. Give it up!
NTK2A: You called someone an idiot, yet your comment was about something so trivial as a person that isn't a model and her model-walk. Hahahahaha
ReplyDeletemichelle obama is a fucking cunt
ReplyDeleteI loooove Joy!
ReplyDeletedigimon suck, pokemon ftw!
ReplyDeletelol, I totally agree with anonymous 11.47

I think you need to grow up.
"Anonymous said...

I think you remind me of one too.
Michelle Obama is my hero. Paris Hilton sucks.
ReplyDeleteThis blog makes me sad. I love the show, but the discussions under them are so bitter and hate-fuelled. It's fine and interesting to express your views but is so negative to make it into an "us and them" argument, and to use such general statements like "Liberals think... Republicans are... All Americans hate..".
ReplyDeleteAlso people seem to just bring about bitter and negative arguements here which have no relevance to the show. I'm sre there is a "I don't like Michelle Obama's shoes" blog wsomewhere in the internet.
Finally, plesae please please don't say things on here that you wouldn't say to someone if you met them face to face. The internet brings annonymity and so brings about rudeness and allows people to express hatred and prejudices which can't be expressed in the real world.
OK - that wasn't finally! Can the person who keeps telling people to "get hobbies" stop!? What a mean, petty statement.
Phew, that's all...
Barbara SO organized Paris to be there the day Whoopi wasn't! Hahaha.

ReplyDeleteWhile I totally agree with you, that this site has gotten more negative in recent days, I wish you could see the love affair or disdain that people have with different segments. If people would dismiss arguments that are no longer relevant (ie: Bush got us into the war, we love President Obama because he's a cool guy, etc.) and start to talk about things at a substantive level, the internet could be a more insightful place. However, if you wish to see the type of posters that are on this site, I would ask you to go to the recent segment of about a week ago, when 2 ladies were on and the backlack from them, instead of veneration for, was displayed.
I have no racial prejudices against the Obama family. I wish they would just be held under the same level of scrutiny that people put on past presidents, but he's not. People love the man, but people can't also describe the policies under the man. That's where a lot of conservative posters come from. We're not hicks, we're not racists, we're not people that kill someone because he disagrees with us (Dr. Tiller). Most conservatives won't discuss things because to be a conservative is to be positive in your political convictions. However, for some of us, there's only so much beating that we can put up with, in the online world. This site displays that vulgar separation of those on the left to those on the right.
I love that Lester posts the videos. I think it's just a nice thing/gesture to do. I just wish more people would think about what they post on here. Look at the words against Elisabeth. It's like get over it. Get a new topic. Pick on someone new.
If Keith Olbermann & Laura Ingraham can date, I think there's hope for the rest of us in this political system. :)

ReplyDeleteParis Hilton is skinny yes, and so are many women, NATURALLY. Why do SO MANY women think that Shakira, Beyonce and other CURVY (not fat) women represent them? These women have bodies that are beautiful yet aren't attainable to MANY women JUST like the skinny bodies aren't. Why can't people just focus on their own individuality and make THEMSELVES the most FIT or skinny or FAT who cares? Little girls MOTHER'S need to be THEIR role models. If these mothers would emphasis fitness and health to their children, AND lead by example then perhaps the kids wouldn't need to go OUTSIDE the family structure for guidance on body image. Women are getting BUTT IMPLANTS and BREAST implants to look CURVIER..yet that is NOT a topic of disdain. From my experience, more women want to look like Beyonce, Kim Karadashian or Shakira than Paris Hilton ANYWAY! And when Kim K was on the view she didn't get the level of hate and she TOO had a sex tape and is a bimbo..but JOY feels because SHE is overweight that she can identify with KIM K more than she can PARIS HILTON...even though there isn't a difference in either of them. The only reason skinny "B*tches" have as much power over so many women's brains is because they are given it. Being OVERWEIGHT is just as much of a health issue as being UNDERWEIGHT. And if some people claim they are NATURALLY thick, why the hell can't people be naturally THIN?
ReplyDeleteTO michelle71
ReplyDeleteWhile I do agree with much of your statement.
Obama - Not held under the same level of scrutiny that people put on past presidents??
Calling Barack Obama and his wife socialist, communist, reversed racist, antichrist, BLACK ANGRY MAN, palling around with terrorists and the list just goes on and on.
The liberal media has actually been very critical of Obama. Rachel Maddow has for instance critized Obama on several occations when it comes to several issues; “Don’t ask don’t tell”, Gay marriage and Guantanamo. So has the NY Times and several other Liberal heavy weights like Paul Krugman who has been very critical of Obama’s economical plan.
Even John Stewart has made fun of Obama several times and made several critical points on his policies

ReplyDeleteI just mentioned some women randomly from the entertainment field that I could recall do a lot of humanitarian work, that also have some serious interest in some kind of fitness activity and that seem very self confident. I believe that all body types from all ethnicities are beautiful. Who cares if they are “curvy” or more on the “slim” side as long as they are healthy and active? (I never mentioned Beyonce as a role model)
Not all children have good mothers. That is why role models are important. Many children don't even have mothers.
The most important part for me is that women try to be healthy and self confident. That is why I believe that self confident role models that are into sports or other types of more serious fitness activity are good role models. I also admire women that show some interest in the more profound issues in live. I have never really heard Paris talk about real life issues.
I would also say that it’s nothing wrong for women to admire other beautiful women. It’s nothing wrong about seeing beautiful features in other women. I give my girlfriends compliments on their looks all the time! That does not mean that women should try to aspire to look like someone else. That is the difference.
@From Sweden,
ReplyDeleteHow do you know Shakira has a positive body image about herself? Do you know that MOST bulimics are people with "normal" body shapes? You mentioned "curvy" role models..I don't think thats good either because most girls may believe that having BOOBS, HIPS AND BUTT is what they're supposed to look like. Hence the increase in high school girls and freshmen girls getting BOOB implants and now butt implants. Why is one body image more positive than the other when they are both body images that aren't realistic for MOST women? Being overweight isn't the same as being curvy..I think this escapes a lot of women. I understand many girls don't have role models..but just how do you know women like Shakira promote a healthy life? How do you know they even practice it? Is it because they are NOT very thin? How do you know Shakira has not had plastic surgery or boob implants? Her market audience is to be wanted by men and have women wanna look like her. I can't see how someone with a very grown adult woman's voluptuous body is a more positive body image than a very thin person. I see both as being similar in the effects of an image that's not easily attainable unless there is some kind of disorder or cosmetic surgery involved. Just because a woman is a woman doesn't men her hips with perfectly be shaped like Shakiras, or her stomach will be perfectly flat like Shakiras and her boobs will be perfectly perky, etc., etc. I see no difference..We all have different body types..while Shakira may be hourglass, another little girl may be "boy shaped" should she go get breast implants because she doesn't fit into "a real woman's curvy body?"
I mentioned Evangeline Lily and she has been in Women's health. I mentioned Michelle Obama who is known for promoting a healthy lifestyle. I mentioned Shakira who talks about her love for dancing and healthy food.
ReplyDeleteI also mentioned these girls for their devotion to humanitarian work. Shakira is a UN ambassador and Evangeline has worked as a volunteer long before she was famous.
All these girls that I randomly mentioned look different - different ethnicities, body types and overall looks. So I did not just mention "curvy girls"
You seem a bit obsessed with curvy girls. Im happy with my myself and that does not mean that I can't admire other beautiful girls. I will never look like someone else. That is impossible and I would never want to look like someone else since Im perfectly happy beeing who I was born to be. I belive that is the message that younger girls should understand.
Gosh, I love Paris Hilton's publicist.
