i wathced this on saturday, i live in ireland so i get it at the same time as england. it was amazing! it already has almost 7,000,000 views on YouTube!! in 4 days! oh, and thanks a mil lester!! i love the ellen show, and the hot topics segment of the view! thanks!
the crew on this show did a fantastic job editing her segment. from the eye rolling teenagers and snickering judges.
she may not be the best singer, but this was the perfect song, and she embodied it with her whole being. it speaks to me as an artist, who's had her share of rejections, as a woman, who's had heartbreak, and as a person, who knows what it is to feel judgment-- and to unfairly give that judgment out.
kichaa, I just had to applaud you comment. Too many people miss the point and it drives me crazy. I first watched the clip a day after the performance and many times since and only after getting over the initial emotional response 'got' it. its indeed done so well that you could even watch it without the sound and 'get' the story and feel empathy, almost like in a Charlie Chaplin silent movie.
Thank you for coming to my blog.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but she's good but she's not that good!
ReplyDeleteShe is talented. Why do so many people insist on belittling this woman? Let her have her time.
ReplyDeleteI did not expect that
ReplyDeleteits not about how good she is, its aout how she was judged on how she presented herself, and she gave everyone a wake up slap, shes got talent.
ReplyDeleteShe is amazing. Thats the same like Paul Potts. All people judged him too and then we all had tears in our eyes.
