Okay I am majorly p****d off! A 14 year old girl who posted naked pictures of HERSELF is possibly going to be charged for posession of Child Pornography!? How is this possession of child pornography if it is a picture of herself??? I think the police should be spending their time catching Paedophiles, people who pose a serious risk to society, not wasting their time pressing charges against a young girl who committed a silly mistake! Was it not enough to tell her to remove it??? It's ridiculous! Thanks 4 uploading Lester!!!
I'm happy Whoopi's back, but am still a little disturbed by how little 40% of the panel brings to the table. The fact that 2/5 ppl on this show don't offer much with respect to informed and relevant perspectives means they're just there to keep the show interesting. I'm starting to wish for a show that expects us to be able to digest five fully-formed adult opinions without having to play to our insane and ignorant counter-parts just because they make a lot of noise. Smart people can have varying view-points and be funny, too. Just thinking out-loud, I guess...
That is the dumbest thing ive EVER HEARD!!!! the girl is being charged with child porn????? Who was the victim, her? This is why people dont respect us anymore, we have BS Black and White laws no gray area at all....Im shocked that the panel didnt rail against this.
As someone who's twenty (whose bf totally sent me naked pictures of himself when i was under 18 ) I think this child porn offense is ridiculous.
On one hand, this phenomena of young teenage girls who send naked pictures of themselves to their bfs in order to impress them is TRAGIC. But that's the fault of shows like gossip girls, the bachelor (there elizabeth!), and ads that make young girls think that the way to gain love, attention, and admiration is by being a sex object--showing their body off.
But that just proves a lack of self-confidence and stupidity and should definitely not be a criminal offense (who are they hurting??). The reason I never fell into that trap (or was pressured into having sex or sending pics of myself) was because I took this media literacy class in high school (one of the most useful classes ever!!).
Also, one positive way to look at this is that now teenagers can see what teenagers are supposed to look like naked. All too often the only image that teenagers see of naked human bodies (which is nothing to be ashamed about) is through porn and highly airbrushed magazines. Anwys, the response of the panel today totally frustrated me...
